How Find My Moat handles your information

We keep tracking minimal and never sell your data. This page covers what we collect, why, and how you can control it-no legal jargon, just straightforward answers.

What we collect

  • Page views, clicked tool links, referrer, URL, and UTM tags (analytics is on by default; turn it off anytime).
  • Browser and device info, plus IP-derived hashes for abuse prevention and deduplication.
  • Anonymous IDs for analytics; functional IDs if you vote or submit feedback, proposals, tool ideas, or stock requests.
  • Feedback and form messages with optional email or contact details for follow-ups.
  • Client error reports may include the current URL, browser details, and technical error text.

Why we collect it

  • Improve the directory based on what's actually useful.
  • Prevent duplicate votes and keep rankings trustworthy.
  • Detect abuse, spam, bots, and broken client-side experiences.
  • Respond when you leave contact details.

Cookies & consent

  • Necessary: Consent choice and functional ID for votes.
  • Analytics: On by default; records anonymous visit data when active.
  • Change preferences anytime via "Privacy settings" in the footer.

Storage & services

  • Primary app data is stored in Supabase.
  • Operational notifications may be sent to Telegram with form text, optional contact details, source page, browser details, and error context.
  • Vercel Analytics may process anonymous visit information when analytics consent is active.
  • Your consent preference is stored in a browser cookie for six months.
  • Telegram alert copies are used for operational triage.
