Intel remains the x86 client and server CPU volume leader, but its share continues to narrow. Mercury Research put Q2 2026 x86 client unit share at 69.7% and broad server unit share at 65.5%. The main moat is x86 software compatibility, shared with AMD. Intel also owns scarce leading-edge manufacturing and packaging capability, while Mobileye brings automotive design-ins and mapping data.
