Overview
Dassault Aviation is a French aerospace OEM with Defence (Rafale and military support) and Falcon business-jet activities. H1 2026 adjusted net sales were EUR4.16B, split 70.8% Defence and 29.2% Falcon; the EUR45.36B firm backlog included 208 Rafale and 83 Falcon. Defence advantages rest on Dassault's embedded French prime-contractor role and military lifecycle-support position. Falcon's clearest advantage is its support footprint for about 2,150 jets, including more than 60 service centers. The Falcon 10X flew in June but entry into service moved to 2029, while France and Germany halted FCAS/NGF. India's proposed 114 Rafale and the France-Ukraine roadmap for 16 Rafale are opportunities, not firm backlog. Backlog, customer advances, certification rules and company-authored reputation claims are context rather than standalone moats.
