A CURATED DIRECTORY OF FINANCIAL TOOLS AND RESOURCES
StreamXLS Review, Pricing, and Features
StreamXLS
StreamXLS puts Interactive Brokers quotes, balances, positions, P&L, and open orders into Windows Excel through RTD. It can stage an order ticket for manual review in TWS, but it does not transmit trades, provide market-data entitlements, support Mac or browser Excel, or replace IBKR.
Best for
- Windows Excel users who already use Interactive Brokers and want locally streamed quotes, positions, account values, P&L, and open orders in custom workbooks.
- Advanced investors and desks that prefer transparent RTD formulas and their own spreadsheet models over a separate browser dashboard.
- IBKR users looking to stage order tickets from Excel but retain manual review and submission inside TWS.
Watch out
- StreamXLS requires desktop Excel for Windows through Microsoft 365 or Office 2016 or later. It supports 32-bit and 64-bit Excel but not Excel for Mac, Excel for the web, or mobile spreadsheet clients.
- Users need an Interactive Brokers account, locally running TWS or IB Gateway with API access enabled, TWS API 10.47.01 or later, and any market-data subscriptions required for their instruments.

Key features
- Use native Excel RTD formulas to stream IBKR market quotes, account values, positions, live P&L, and open orders into a workbook.
- Connect locally to Trader Workstation or IB Gateway through the user's own TWS API installation and IBKR account.
- Work with stocks, futures, options, and FX supported by the documented contract syntax and the user's IBKR permissions.
- Monitor multiple IBKR accounts and multiple Excel instances on one licensed Windows machine.
- Reuse and deduplicate identical RTD topics, buffer updates while Excel is busy, and resubscribe after supported reconnect scenarios.
- Return #N/A for real-time fields when StreamXLS cannot establish that the value is current, rather than silently preserving a stale value.
- Detect delayed IBKR market data with an IsDelayed field or optional cell annotation; annotated values become text and cannot be used directly in numeric calculations.
- Stage an order ticket in TWS for user review without transmitting it to the market; order submission and cancellation remain TWS actions.
- Keep spreadsheet contents and IBKR trading data on the local Excel-to-TWS path according to the vendor, while license checks send limited device and activation data to third-party licensing infrastructure.
- Start a 30-day full-featured trial on first use without a signup, license key, or credit card.
- Choose a Personal license for qualifying non-business own-money use or a Professional license for business and regulated-finance use, each licensed per machine to one named user.
- StreamXLS is not affiliated with Interactive Brokers, does not provide market-data entitlements or investment advice, and is not an execution venue.
